The Kitchen Gardens of the Marshal of Saxe Stables offer visitors the opportunity to discover Chambord through its horticultural heritage.
Covering nearly 5,000 square metres, these organically cultivated gardens were created in 2019 as part of the restoration of the former stables. Inspired by the layout of Renaissance gardens, they combine fruit, vegetables, aromatic herbs, edible flowers and medicinal plants in a setting that reflects both tradition and biodiversity.
The orchard includes around forty varieties of apple, pear and peach trees, grown using traditional training techniques. Throughout the seasons, the gardens showcase the diversity of cultivated plants while helping to preserve historic varieties.
The Kitchen Gardens also supply the estate’s restaurants and provide an exceptional setting for discovering the agricultural heritage that has long been part of life at Chambord.
