Chambord, 1939-1945: saving some of the world’s beauty
With the help of valuable archival documents, a new four-room visitors’ itinerary explains how, during World War II, Chambord was enlisted to protect masterpieces from French museums. Two booklets, one for children and the other for their teachers, outline the steps of a theme-based tour. Free access from the castle’s terraces.

Child (6-17 years) – EEA and non-EEA citizens or residents: free from November to February – 3 euros from March to October.
