Christmas at Chambord is back! From 28 November, the Domaine national de Chambord celebrates the festive season, inviting visitors of all ages to enjoy a magical winter experience.
This year, visitors are immersed in the world of Gargantua, the legendary giant imagined by François Rabelais in the 16th century. Indulgence, abundance, fantasy and extravagance transform the château’s Christmas decorations and its centuries-old walls into the setting for a festive and immersive experience.
Echoing the temporary exhibition The Feasts of Chambord, presented on the second floor of the château, this edition of Christmas at Chambord continues the exploration of the pleasures of the table and the art of hospitality through the centuries.
Christmas at Chambord highlights include:
- The heritage exhibition The Feasts of Chambord, recreating four emblematic meals from the château’s history. An exceptional journey through the history of gastronomy, from the 16th century to the late 20th century;
- Themed guided tours – Kitchen Remains & Secrets, exploring culinary traditions and practices through the centuries;
- Weekend entertainment throughout December, including strolling performers, traditional games, Renaissance-themed activities, chocolate painting workshops, nature workshops and much more.
