Full-day workshop
Level: Ages 7-15
Times: 9.30am/12pm and 1.30pm/4pm

After collecting insects from various environments, pupils classify them with the help of a simplified table. Practical exercises are organised to give a clearer insight into the biology of insects.

Getting acquainted with insects and mastering any anxieties children might have in their regard. Identifying main classification criteria.

Programme

  • Fieldwork – from soil to tree branch, the children use a variety of capturing techniques to collect the greatest possible number of insects.
  • Back in the classroom, with the help of drawings and detailed observation through magnifying glasses, they tackle classification of orders and sometimes families of insects.
