Shapes and Colours

Each season brings in its own cortege of shapes and colours. After having a look at how artists make use of nature as a medium for their works, the children are taken into the forest to interact with the natural features they come across, letting their inspiration and imagination be their guides.
ObjectiveEncouraging creativity and shared work among children. Observing the great variety of shapes and colours to be encountered in the forest.
Programme
- Classroom: slideshow of works by contemporary artists working in nature surroundings or with natural materials, in installation of ephemeral artworks.
- Forest: the children gather bark, moss, flowers, lichens, pebbles and dead wood as the fancy takes them.
- In groups: each group creates a collective work to present to the other groups, and photographs it as a record of their achievement.
