Musical events

Chambord has been a constant fascination for almost five centuries. The National Estate of Chambord is now hoping to add a spark of life to this boundless charm by using this exceptional site once again in the way François I had intended: as a venue for pleasure-seeking and festivals where the owners only came to entertain themselves amidst this immense forest.

The various musical events organised in the Château and on the Estate every year help to uphold this secular tradition to keep boredom well and truly at bay! Everything at Chambord sets the scene for music, whether it be the first sunny days of summer, the first leaves falling in autumn or the setting sun... musical events are perfect opportunities to experience the Château as it should be.

This year, Chambord is hosting:
  • On Saturday 19 September: Open air opera, Rigoletto by Verdi
  • On Saturday 10 October 2009: Great Renaissance Ball
