In springtime the birds get busy marking territory, building or repairing nests, courting and mating, laying eggs and raising chicks – all activities to be viewed and considered during this observation workshop.
ObjectiveListening, and learning how to use binoculars.
Programme
The children are taken into the heart of the forest to listen to different kinds of birdsong and familiarise themselves with various mnemotechnical devices for distinguishing one from another.
Depending upon the time of year, they may also be able to observe courting rituals, or witness birds at work nest building or feeding their young.
