Living trees

Objective

Understanding that a tree is a living thing.

Programme

Fieldwork, with each child looking for a living tree and a dead tree, and comparing the two in order to understand the basic needs that trees have.

Measurement of tree growth in terms of height and diameter. Calculation of a tree’s age.

Recognition of a number of species.
