The children look for signs of the presence of animals and, if possible, follow their tracks. They then make casts of different types of prints.
ObjectiveTo learn about the ways of life and movements of wild animals, large forest mammals in particular.
Programme
- After having the children produce their own impressions of wild animals, they are invited into the forest to search for and gather the signs that animals leave of their presence (dens, wallows, rub marks, rooting places, fur, feathers, droppings, etc.)
- They then take plaster casts of an animal’s footprints, after having spotted its trail and identified its species by the shape of its tracks.
