Louis XIV, the Sun King, has already chosen this room for hosting his receptions. The interior shutters, carved with radiant suns, his symbol, still bear witness to him.

With the central double spiral staircase and arch ornate with 400 coffers, bearing carvings of the monogram of François I and his symbol, the salamander, this room sums up the exquisite decoration of Chambord.
6. Orleans Commons
In the Royal Wing, which was converted in the 17th century by Gaston d’Orléans, this long room was where the lavish royal banquets thrown at the Château were prepared.

The ideal venue for getting an evening going with a cocktail with a unique overview of the Château’s remarkable architecture.
