Will the children be able to help him, and so accompany him to the secret study where the venerable artist is preparing his latest wonders?

Imagined as a sequel to Charles Perrault’s tale “Donkeyskin” – Jacques Demy’s 1970 film version of which used Chambord as a location – the story has the children befriended by a fairy and led into the château’s magical nooks and crannies. She involves them in trying to thwart the machinations of a witch who is bent on preventing Donkeyskin from marrying her Prince.
By showing proof of their bravery and alertness as they wander the château’s passageways, will the children and the magic at their command be able to free the prince from the spells cast over him?
